Role & Process

This project focused on designing the user interface and experience for a feature called the Cashier—allowing users to withdraw and deposit their money through a variety of externally integrated payment providers such as Papara, Visa, and PayCell—user research played a crucial role. To ensure that the Cashier feature was user-centric, we began by identifying the target audience: frequent users of the platform, casual users, and those with varying levels of digital proficiency.

Project Goals

1. Build Trust and Security: Design to foster trust, prioritising secure transactions and clear communication of payment statuses.

2. Support Multiple Payment Providers: Establish a distinct and appealing brand that resonates with the target audience, incorporating cohesive elements such as logo design, colour schemes, and typography to create a memorable and engaging user experience

3. Improve Usability: Ensure the Cashier feature is intuitive and easy to use, offering a seamless deposit and withdrawal experience across devices.

Identifying Users

In designing the Cashier feature, identifying the primary users was a critical first step to ensure the interface met their specific needs. This involved a detailed analysis of the platform’s user base, segmenting them into key groups such as frequent bettors, casual users, and newcomers to digital payments.  Understanding these user groups provided the foundation for a design that prioritised ease of use, security, and flexibility.

The Casual Bettor
Bets occasionally for fun during big events, enjoys the thrill but isn’t deeply invested in sports or strategy.
The Strategic Bettor
Relies on data and research to make informed bets, aiming to maximise profits with a calculated approach.
The Social Bettor
Enjoys betting as a social activity with friends, seeking community features and gamification.
The High Roller (VIP)
Bets large sums regularly, expects premium service, high limits, and exclusive rewards.
The Social Bettor
Bets on live games in real-time, values fast updates and quick decision-making opportunities.
The Recreational Bettor
Prefers low-stakes, long-shot bets like accumulators, focused more on excitement and big wins than strategy.

Below is an example of a key user persona who would frequently use the Cashier feature. By developing personas like this, we gained a deeper understanding of user expectations and needs, allowing us to tailor the feature to meet their specific requirements effectively.

Product Research

In the Product Research section, we delve into the findings that informed the design of the Cashier feature. This research involved a comprehensive analysis of market trends, competitor offerings, and user behaviours related to digital payment solutions. By examining existing products, we identified key opportunities for innovation and improvement. This process ensured that our design not only aligned with user needs but also stood out in a competitive landscape, ultimately enhancing the overall user experience.

What I was curious about?

input FIELD: What types of input fields are used, and how are they displayed on the page?

transaction history: How is the transaction history organised, and is there a separate page for detailed information?

HIERARCHY: What key components are prioritised in the Cashier flows, and how prominent are the figures and calls to action?

What I found?

Simplicity and Clarity: Effective interfaces feature clean layouts and straightforward navigation, allowing users to complete tasks easily.

Visual Hierarchy: information is prioritised through size, colour, and placement. Important elements like transaction amounts and calls to action stand out.

Consistency: cohesive design language in colour schemes, typography, and icons, which helps users feel familiar with the app.

User Flows

I developed user flows for both the withdrawal and deposit processes, focusing on key user stories. These flows illustrate the step-by-step journey users take when interacting with the Cashier feature, highlighting critical touchpoints and decision-making moments. By focusing on individual user experiences, we aimed to create intuitive and efficient pathways that align with user needs, ensuring a seamless transaction process.

Depositing

The depositing section of the Cashier feature is designed to provide users with a straightforward and efficient way to add funds to their accounts. It minimises friction and enhances user confidence by offering clear instructions and options for various payment providers. By streamlining the deposit flow, we aim to create a positive experience that encourages users to engage more frequently with the platform and manage their funds effortlessly.

Withdrawing

The withdrawing section of the Cashier feature is crafted to provide users with an intuitive and efficient method for accessing their funds. It reduces friction and fosters user confidence by offering straightforward instructions and support for multiple payment providers. By refining the withdrawal flow, we aim to deliver a smooth experience that empowers users to manage their finances with ease and confidence.

Transaiction History

The transaction history section provides users with a comprehensive overview of their financial activities, featuring both pending and past transactions organised by tabs for easy access. Each transaction links to a detailed page highlighting all relevant information, allowing users to gain a complete understanding of their activities. This clear organisation ensures users can effortlessly track their transactions and manage their finances effectively.

Crypto Prototype

An extension of the initial Cashier project involved implementing support for users to deposit and withdraw funds using cryptocurrency and crypto wallets. The overall flow remained largely unchanged; however, instead of depositing directly within the app, a crypto wallet is now generated, allowing users to deposit funds into this wallet externally. This enhancement broadens payment options and caters to the growing demand for cryptocurrency integration. Below is a PROTOTYPE of the deposit flow.
